There are several causes of dandruff,some of them are: growth of yeast on scalp,excessive dry or oily hair,harsh shampoo,hair styling products,dirty hair,deficiency of vitamin "A" and "C", constipation and iron in water .
Our scalp regenerates new cells after about every 21 days,but in some cases these cells regenerate much faster,which are called dandruff.
Some tips to fight dandruff are:
Try to keep your hair clean.Shampoo 2/3 times a week.
There are many good anti-dandruff shampoos in the market,use them at least thrice a month.Do not over use anti-dandruff shampoos.
Drink at least 7/8 glasses of water daily.Try to keep your stomach clean.
Your scalp should not become over dry or oily.Oily scalp may result in oily dandruff and scalp hair may cause dry dandruff.
Do hot oil massage if you have dry scalp and use a very mild shampoo 1/2 times a week.
If you have oily dandruff use multani mitti/fullers earth paste on your scalp and gently wash it off well when it dries.
At night massage olive oil on your scalp and next morning apply a paste of fenugreek seeds and shampoo after half/one hour.To make fenugreek paste,soak fenugreek seeds whole night in water,next day make a paste of the seeds.
Massage olive oil on your scalp at night and next day apply lemon juice on your scalp,shampoo after half an hour.
Apply a mixture of curd and besan on your scalp and wash it off thoroughly with shampoo after about one hour.
Try to eat more fresh vegetables and avoid meat.
Apply the yellow part of egg on your scalp and shampoo after half an hour.
